Robert L. Kollar serves as Of Counsel in Berger Kahn’s Lake Forest office, where he focuses his practice on labor and employment law and insurance coverage.

Robert earned his Juris Doctor from Lewis & Clark Law School and his Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of California, Irvine. He is an active member of the State Bar of California. His broad legal background, paired with deep insurance coverage insight, allows him to navigate high-stakes disputes with skill and precision.

With more than 20 years of legal experience, he has guided companies through complex litigation, compliance challenges, and risk management issues. Robert is known for delivering practical solutions that protect his clients’ interests while supporting their long-term goals.

Before joining Berger Kahn, Mr. Kollar served as General Counsel for Illumination Health + Home and Givsum, Inc., where he oversaw corporate governance, negotiated high-value commercial agreements, and directed litigation strategies. He also spent 15 years as Senior Legal Counsel for Kawasaki Motors Corp., USA, where he managed more than 50 product liability claims annually, led major contract negotiations, and oversaw one of the largest recall campaigns in the company’s history. His early career in private practice included securing notable trial and appellate wins in product liability, employment law, and contract disputes.
