Nicholas Manning is an Associate (Pending Bar Admission) at Berger Kahn’s Lake Forest office, where his primary focus is on labor & employment law and insurance coverage.
Before attending law school, Nicholas graduated from The University of California, Los Angeles with high honors. There, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in History with minors in Spanish, as well as Film, Television, and Digital Media. He then worked for seven years in the education, marketing, and non-profit industries. His professional background in these industries allows him to bring a service mindset to his legal practice.
Nicholas joined Berger Kahn during his 3L year at Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law in 2025. During his time at Pepperdine Law, Nicholas served as an Editorial Board Member on the Pepperdine Law Review. His writing skills and dedication also earned him two awards during his time at Pepperdine Law. These awards include the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Legal Research and Writing I, as well as the Best Case Note Award for the Pepperdine Law Review’s 2023 Write-on Competition. Additionally, Nicholas published his award-winning case note in the Pepperdine Law Review’s 2024 Annual Volume.
Nicholas’ legal experience includes externing under the Honorable Craig Richman for the Los Angeles Superior Court. He also clerked for Pepperdine’s Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, Pepperdine’s Religious Liberty Clinic, and the Law Office of Alex Farzan. Lastly, he worked as a Teaching Assistant to Assistant Professor of Legal Research & Writing Kelsey Morris at Pepperdine Law.
Born and raised in Southern California, Nicholas likes to spend his free time staying active in the outdoors. In particular, he enjoys trail-running, cycling, swimming, and (most recently) surfing.
