Managing Partner Craig Simon’s $2.2B Woolsey Fire settlement with Southern California Edison remains in the spotlight. ALM featured the story in “Critical Mass,” news on mass torts, class actions, big wins, and novel legal strategies.”

Says ALM, “Wildfires Extinguished: Lawyers announced a $2.2 billion settlement on Monday with Southern California Edison to resolve insurance claims associated with the deadly 2018 Woolsey Fire in Los Angeles. Edison also said it reached settlements with 1,000 individuals over a 2017 wildfire and subsequent mudslides. Lawyers on the subrogation claims were Craig Simon (Berger Kahn), Maura Walsh Ochoa and Waylon Pickett (Grotefeld Hoffmann), Shawn Caine (The Law Offices of Shawn E. Caine) and Howard Maycon (Cozen O’Connor).
