In November 2022, Berger Kahn Partner Heather Whitmore, Senior Associate Mallory Yumol, and Associates Tyler Angelini, James Harvey, Brennan Lund, Walker Macon, and Jay Shaaban volunteered as attorney scorers in the Mock Trial Competition, hosted by the Constitutional Rights Foundation of Orange County (CRF-OC).
The tournament took place at the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana, where the attorneys judged the mock trials between high school student teams and carefully scored their performances.
This year’s topic revolved around a fictional case concerning an alleged burglary of a Shakespearean-era watch, and whether this violated criminal procedures protected under the 4th Amendment.
Berger Kahn actively volunteers with CRF-OC Mock Trial, having attended numerous competitions in the past. The Berger Kahn attorneys were thoroughly impressed with the students’ presentations and look forward to volunteering with CRF-OC Mock Trial again in the future.
