On the weekends of October 30-November 1 and November 7-8, 2020, Jay Shaaban helped coach three Chapman Fowler School of Law’s Alternative Dispute Resolution teams at the International Mediation Singapore (IMSG) competition, held virtually this year.
Jay Shaaban, a recent Chapman graduate, served as the President of the school’s ADR team during his time there. Last year, at the same competition, Jay took home a gold medal for his performance as an advocate along with two other teammates, in addition to a gold medal for his performance as a mediator.
At IMSG, the teams were judged on their ability to work together as tactful and effective advocates, reaching solutions that adequately addressed their clients’ interests. The performances required students to improvise under changing and complex circumstances in order to formulate mutually beneficial agreements.
This year, one of Jay’s teams was recognized for its outstanding performances and received a bronze medal at closing ceremonies. Additionally, one Chapman Law team member received a gold medal for their skills as a mediator. Congrats to Jay and Chapman Law ADR on their achievements at IMSG!
