Attorney Kent Clayton, of Berger Kahn ALC, acted as seller’s legal counsel in the sale of a satellite-tracking ground station facility to a publicly traded satellite-based imaging company for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition of the ground station facility expands the buyer’s direct control of its existing in-orbit satellite assets. The sale was completed on April 1, 2014.
“Both buyer and seller were pleased with the efficiency and timeliness of legal counsel in the completion of this acquisition,” Clayton commented, “It was vital that the acquisition be completed on time and that there was no interruption of communications with the satellites during the handover of the facility, so the development of a detailed technical transition plan by the business and legal teams was an essential part of ensuring the successful and timely consummation of this transaction.”
