On January 6 and 7, 2024, Berger Kahn Partner Erin Ezra, Senior Associate Mallory Yumol, and Associate Robert Chan began the new year volunteering as judges for the University of California, Irvine’s (“UCI”) Mock Trial Tournament.

This year, the case focused on a charity gala heist, and the student prosecutors got to charge either one of the alleged thieves or a billionaire who funded the heist. Mallory and Robert judged Arizona State University vs. Northwood University. Erin judged UCI (who came in second in the tournament) vs. University of California, Berkeley.
