Mishelle Sotelo is an Associate at Berger Kahn’s Ventura office, where her primary focus is labor and employment law.
Prior to joining Berger Kahn, Mishelle honed her legal skills at the Law Office of John B. Richards where Mishelle served as the second chair and helped obtain a $10.1 million jury verdict for tenants who alleged injury due to toxic conditions in a rental home. She also worked on a case that settled for a $7.5 million (reported at the time as the largest sex-abuse settlement in Santa Barbara County).
Mishelle attended Santa Barbara’s Colleges of Law in Santa Barbara, California, and graduated with high honors in December 2023, where she earned certificates of concentrations in business and family law, and was the President of the Student Body Association. Mishelle was recognized with the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Scholarship from the Santa Barbara Women’s Lawyers.
Prior to attending Santa Barabara’s Colleges of Law, Mishelle graduated from California State University, Chico with a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies and Spanish Language in May 2018.
Mishelle is an active member for both the Mexican American Bar Association, and the Greater Santa Barbara Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. She is actively involved in the UCSB Pre-Law Mentorship program, and volunteers for Santa Barbara County High School Mock Trial and UCSB Mock Trial teams.
In her free time, Mishelle enjoys cycling, film festivals, getting lost in a good book, and coastal getaways with her pug Beanie.
