On November 7, 2020, Berger Kahn law clerk Victoria Yim competed in the New York City Bar’s first-ever virtual National Moot Court Competition for Chapman Law School. Victoria participated in the competition’s regional tournament hosted by Loyola Law School.
Victoria argued for both sides of a 4th Amendment issue regarding warrantless searches of closely regulated businesses, such as the health insurance industry.
After winning their first-round against Berkeley Law, Victoria’s team advanced to the second round, only to face Berkeley again. The second round was challenging, ending in a close call with Berkeley taking the win by only two points. Approximately 25-30 competitors participated in the regional competition. In the closing ceremonies, Victoria was recognized for her outstanding delivery and received the award for 6th Best Oralist.
