Berger Kahn Attends UCI Pre-Law Networking Fair

On Friday, May 14, Partner Erin Ezra, Paralegal Hannah Hong, and Associates Andrew Wyatt, Miles Dawson, Nandita Nayyar, and Mallory Yumol virtually participated in a networking fair through the University of California, Irvine.

At this year’s event, undergraduate students interested in legal careers engaged with a variety of professional representatives from the field — including legal clinics, law firms, and law enforcement agencies. The assorted provider representation gave students access to diverse perspectives and opportunities.

Representatives were split into individual Zoom breakout rooms, where they could provide one-on-one feedback to inquisitive undergraduate members of UCI’s pre-law fraternity and pre-law society. The structure of this networking event allowed for personable exchanges, similar to the one-on-one discussions that occur at the school’s in-person networking events. Associate Mallory Yumol recalls that the setting allowed for honest feedback and genuine conversations between Berger Kahn employees and UCI students.

“You really have to make sure [a legal career] is right for you, and that you’re in the right place,” Mallory advised a student.

Berger Kahn members also provided guidance and encouragement to students regarding finances, tips on finding jobs, interviewing etiquette, and the importance of maximizing one’s LSAT score and GPA.
