On November 12 and 13, 2022, Berger Kahn Partner Erin Ezra, Senior Associate Jamie Rice, and Associates Miles Dawson and Catherine Taylor volunteered as attorney scorers in UCI’s Mock Trial Tournament. Erin and Jamie also served as the presiding judge in their respective rounds.
This year’s oral arguments revolved around a fictional civil suit involving an airplane crash that resulted in 2 deaths. The students acting as attorneys presented their arguments and witnesses to establish a negligence claim against the airplane company. In Erin’s round, Jayden Xia from the UC San Diego B team won the Outstanding Witness award. Senior Associate Jamie Rice was especially impressed with Amy Wong from the UC Irvine D team, who won the Outstanding Attorney award.
