Richard Wm. Zevnik has more than 25 years of insurance industry experience, both as a coverage attorney and as an underwriter for two major property and casualty insurers.
Richard has extensive experience in analyzing and litigating insurance coverage and bad faith claims involving commercial and personal lines policies in state and federal jurisdictions throughout California. He currently renders coverage opinions involving property and liability claims for several national carriers in which millions of dollars are at issue.
In the litigation arena, Richard represents insurance companies and their insureds in insurance disputes involving commercial general liability coverage, directors and officers coverage, errors and omissions coverage, construction claims, and professional liability coverage.
Richard also has a successful appellate practice that has resulted in two published decisions, including California Union Insurance Co. v. American Diversified Savings Bank, 948 F.2d 556 (9th Cir. 1991).
Prior to entering law school, Richard worked as a property and casualty underwriter with Prudential Reinsurance Company and Kemper Insurance Companies.
Richard graduated from Loyola Law School (JD, 1985) and the University of California at Los Angeles (BA, 1976). He is a member of the American, California, Los Angeles and Orange County Bar Associations. He was recently named Vice-Chancellor of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles.
